Support the HEG Community Chest!

What is it?

Funding from developments across Brighton & Hove go into a central pot, now called the Better Brighton & Hove Fund. Funding is split between the wards across the city, with £22,000 available to projects in Hanover & Elm Grove.

The Communities Forum and other local groups have collectively submitted a bid for £16,000 to create a new, local community fund – accessible to all groups, big and small.

The Hanover & Elm Grove Green Infrastructure & Community Chest Fund for Social Infrastructure (or the HEG Community Chest) will:

  • Support local community groups with micro-grants
  • Tackle environmental and social issues in our area
  • Put control into local residents hands.

How can I support the Community Chest?

There are two stages to how the Better Brighton & Hove fund will be awarded: residents vote for their preferences, and then ward councillors will make the final decision of which projects are funded.

We’re asking residents to go to the Better Brighton & Hove fund page, and vote for the Hanover & Elm Grove Green Infrastructure & Community Chest Fund for Social Infrastructure.

Voting is open from 1st April to 30th April. Click the button below or go to https://yourvoice.brighton-hove.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/better-brighton-hove-fund to cast your vote!
