Community Takeover Exhibit – Phoenix Food Shop and Phoenix Art Space

Following three years of partnership between Phoenix Art Space and Phoenix Food Shop, an exhibition has been developed including a series of photographs by Hugh Fox that document the work of the food shop volunteers. Alongside these are the results of ongoing creative activities that have been developed by Phoenix Art Space artists in collaboration with residents. The exhibition will include the launch of the latest Phoenix Estate Neighbourhood Action Plan (NAP), a document based on local knowledge and experience that identifies priorities, resources, and opportunities for people living in the area. It is supported by local partners Hyde Group, Brighton and Hove City Council, Trust for Developing Communities, Phoenix Art Space, Phoenix Food Shop, Hanover and Elm Grove Community Forum, Phoenix Community Association and Sussex Police.

All are invited to join us at the NAP launch at 4pm on Friday 15th September at the Phoenix Community Centre (2 Phoenix Place) and then visit the exhibition from 5-6pm at Phoenix Art Space (10-14 Waterloo Place).

To show your support for the Phoenix Food Shop and the ongoing essential work that they do please either bring donations of dry food with you to the launch or donate via the crowdfunding page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Phoenixfoodshop?utm_term=qEWzxX9p5
